This vocational course provides the necessary knowledge and skills to the apprentices to work with civil engineering professionals and engineering technologists. These professionals prepare detailed drawings, sketches, charts, tabulations, and designs of civil engineering work.

They assist in research, design, construction, operations, and plans to support the civil engineers building drainage systems, water supply, roads, airports, dams, sewage reticulation systems, and other structures.

Civil Engineering Draftsperson Course Requirements

  • Age: The student must be at least 18 years of age at the time of applying. The upper age limit for the visa pathway for this course is 45 years. Some institutions may have different age requirements, and candidates must cross-check with the institutions for age restrictions. 
  • Education Requirements: The international candidate must have finished 10th standard equivalent to Australian education standards with good marks in mathematics. Some institutions may require the candidate to be from a science background. 
  • English Proficiency: International candidates must have a score of 6 in IELTS with not less than 5.5 overall score. Some institutions may accept TOEFL or PTE scores as well.  prove their English proficiency through IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE scores.   • International candidates who have been working as a civil engineering draftsperson or in a related role but do not hold a formal qualification.
  • If you have a related overseas diploma, degree, certificate, or significant work experience, but need an Australian-recognised qualification for visa purposes.
  • Individuals with the necessary skills learned through informal on-the-job training, development courses, or other unrecognized learning.
