Course Overview

Air conditioning and refrigeration are techniques for cooling down the space. Both are the same techniques but use different methods. The refrigeration technique is used for preserving food or substances that can spoil. Air conditioning is used for cooling down and dehumidifying enclosed spaces.

The Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration equips students with skills to install, maintain, and repair refrigeration and air conditioning. It is an internationally recognised qualification in Australia. 

On completion of this course, the student gains knowledge of selecting, maintaining, installing, and repairing the air conditioning and refrigeration systems. It covers a wide range of topics and helps students understand refrigeration and air conditioning.

The Air Conditioning and Refrigeration(342111) is currently in the occupation list of Australia. Skill assessment of this course is delivered through Trades Recognition Australia (TRA).

For international students, the current education qualification for air conditioning and refrigeration is to complete the AQF qualification and get a Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.

Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Course Duration

  • Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration: 12 Months to 24 Months.
  • Certificate IV in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration: 24 Months to 36 Months.

 

Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Course Requirements

1. To pursue a Certificate III in air conditioning and refrigeration in Australia, an individual must be 16 to 18 years of age. The age requirements vary depending on the institutes. 

2. Must have completed Australian Year 10 or overseas equivalent to Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.

3. English Proficiency Language:

  • The overall IELTS scores of international students must be 5.5 or 6.0.
  • The PTE scores or TOEFL scores are also acceptable.
  • The band score should not be below 5.0.

4. General Requirements

  • Must have a valid passport
  • Should demonstrate English proficiency
  • Have proper documentation
  • Academic Requirements: Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
