Boat Building Course Overview

Certificate III in marine craft construction in Australia is an ideal qualification for candidates willing to make a career in the marine craft construction industry. By the end of this course, you will be equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to become a qualified tradesperson in this field. With the skills learnt in this boat building course Australia students become qualified to manufacture and repair boats made of fiber plastic, metal, and timber. Additionally, they also learn about installing engineering drive systems, fixing vessel interiors and exteriors, and boatyard operations. The program is designed to deliver the skills and knowledge necessary to work in the marine trade construction. For some units of the curriculum, students must work on live projects to test and enhance their skills as per industry standards. You do not require any license or certification to pursue this course. However, it is recommended to check the local regulations for some jurisdictions. For international students, the requirements are given below.

Certificate III in Marine Craft Construction Requirements

  • You must prove your English proficiency through tests like IELTS or TOEFL with a minimum score of 5.5. 
  • You must have vocational training and have completed the equivalent qualifications.  
  • You must provide either a Certificate III in Boating Services or training that is comparable to an AQF qualification. 
  • You may need to provide evidence that you have completed 3 years of full-time or equivalent post-qualification experience. 
  • You need to make sure that you meet all the requirements that are authorized by the Department of Home Affairs for acquiring an Australian student visa. 
  • You need to undertake an LL&N assessment to make sure that you have the potential skills which is required to achieve the course.
